Captain Ed Page, USCG (Ret), Member and Chairman.
Captain Page is a 1972 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy who presently serves as the Executive Director of the Marine Exchange of Alaska, a non-profit maritime organization located in Juneau, Alaska. Early in his 29 year career in the Coast Guard he sailed on Alaska waters on the CGC BOUTWELL and later served in a variety of Marine Safety and Group assignments in the Coast Guard including assignment as the Captain of the Port and Group Commander for Los Angeles-Long Beach region. During his career he had tours in Ketchikan, Juneau and Anchorage and retired from the Coast Guard as the Chief of Marine Safety for 17th Coast Guard District, Alaska in 2001.
David Benton, Member.
Mr. Benton has over 25 years experience in national and international oceans governance issues. For roughly 14 of those years Mr. Benton represented the State of Alaska in international negotiations and on national fisheries issues. Mr. Benton served 9 years on the North Pacific Fishery Management Council, and was Chair for the last 3 years he was on the Council. He also served as the first Chair of the North Pacific Research Board and was instrumental in establishing the Northern Boundary Fund, a $75 million bi-national endowment that funds fishery science and restoration projects in northern British Columbia and Alaska. Mr. Benton is currently serving as the Executive Director for the Marine Conservation Alliance, a coalition of harvesters, processors, and coastal communities involved in Alaska’s groundfish and crab fisheries. He is also President of the Alaska Lighthouse Association, and is deeply involved in restoring Point Retreat Lighthouse on Admiralty Island

Captain Tom Gemmell, USCG (Ret), Member.
Captain Gemmell is a 1971 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy and served sixteen years of his active duty in Alaska, including command of the Cutters CAPE CORAL (95301) and YOCONA (WMEC 168), deck officer in CONFIDENCE (WMEC 619), Executive Officer of the buoy tenders CITRUS (WLB 300) and FIREBUSH (WLB 393), and 17th District Staff (Intelligence and Law Enforcement, District Inspector, and Readiness). 1971-1980 and 1990-1997.
Jim Loback, CW3, AUS (Ret), Member.
Jim served six years in U.S. Coast Guard. Bering Sea Patrol in CGC NORTHWIND 1951, CGC STORIS 1956-1957, Honor Graduate Army Artillery Radar Officers School, Honor Graduate Army Marine Deck Officers School. Second career in computer peripherals manufacturing as Test and Production Engineer with advancement to Upper Management.
The Board of Directors will serve through 2010 at which time three members will remain through 2012 and two will be up for replacement or reelection to a four year term in accordance with the Bylaws approved on August 6, 2008. The two directors up for replacement or reelection shall be determined by the current Board of Directors currently serving immediately prior to the election.
