We will need cash on hand to bring STORIS from Suisun Bay, California to Juneau, Alaska. The costs will consist of the expense of towing, insurance, docking fees, initial deposits for utilities to name just a few. Additionally there are mailings and printing expenses.
Please note that Directors and Officers serve without compensation and there are currently no paid persons working toward returning STORIS to Alaska. We have no rent as Joe has allowed us to use part of his office space.
The Directors of the STORIS MUSEUM are working diligently to raise funds for the new museum from the State of Alaska, the City and Borough of Juneau as well as from private foundations. We also need YOUR help in attaining our short term goal of raising the sum of $100,000.00 from private donations prior to STORIS' return in Juneau. This will demonstrate the wide based support for ensuring the rich history of the Bering Sea, North Pacific and Arctic Oceans and associated documentation are preserved aboard the "Great Hunter of Alaskan Waters".
There are currently three methods which we are using to raise funds.
