We have been slow getting this page updated as we have been waiting for congress to take action on the Coast Guard Authorization Bill S.1194.
We have been working with congress to get the correct wording, which will authorize the Commandant to turn STORIS over to our non-profit corporation in Juneau, Alaska. We have been verbally assured that the wording has been accepted and has been penciled into the bill. In addition there has been further information from NAUS, a military lobby group, that the CG Authorization Bill has received various changes including our section and has been approved in committee.
We have not been able to find the new worded version of the bill on the Internet and just assume that they are slow getting this type of bill updated.
Just as soon as we can find the updated bill we will pull our section and publish it on our site.

We have submitted our request for funding to the State of Alaska in an amount needed to guarantee a smooth transition for STORIS' return to Juneau. Along with this money we hopefully will be able to raise an additional $100,000.00 from individuals such as yourselves who have the same interests of seeing STORIS as a Museum and Education Center in Juneau, Alaska as we all do. This will be accomplished through a membership drive and donations we we are starting now. Please visit our membership page for further information.
